A Visit to the American Prairie Reserve

Not everyone favors the APR’s private-public model of buying up property to stitch together a Connecticut-sized grasslands refuge formed by these purchases and existing public lands. Nor is everyone pleased about the priority the reserve gives to bison. And, of course, no one likes it when well-heeled outsiders throw their weight around. But being a guest of the APR, as my wife and I were for this travelogue, will surely leave you a believer in the Montana landscape the APR seeks to conserve.
